High voltages – safely monitored
P52000VPD voltage presence detector reliably detects voltages
up to 4200 V DC

The new P52000VPD voltage presence detector monitors areas in which high voltages may occur – either intentionally or due to malfunctions. Devices of this type are essential for protecting persons and equipment, especially in the fields of railway substations, industrial plants, test benches, e-mobility, and rail vehicles. The device continuously detects the voltage and, on reaching a specified threshold value, outputs a signal to the downstream plant control system.
The P52000VPD can reliably monitor voltages of 50 V to 4200 V, making it one of the most powerful devices of its type on the market. The integrated “power good” output, which confirms the correct functioning of the device to the controller, provides further operational safety.
Certifications and technical details
With the most important certifications for the railway sector, including fire protection, as well as for use in harsh industrial environments (UL certification), the device can be used without the need for any further testing.
Similar to all interface components for high-voltage applications, the P52000VPD is constructed to established Knick quality standards. This includes, for example, the galvanic 3-port isolation of input, output, and power supply that enables isolation of up to 4800 V, the integrated 24 V … 230 V AC/DC broad-range power supply, and full vacuum encapsulation of the electronics.
The precise and fast measuring electronics offer the user increased safety on critical applications that require quick, dependable reactions to impermissible deviations in operation.
The up to ten threshold values predefined ex works, which can be conveniently configured using a rotary switch, are unique in this device class. The devices can optionally also be supplied with user-defined values.
