Stratos Multi E471 with EtherNet/IP for Process Optimization

The Stratos Multi E471, part of the proven 4-wire Stratos transmitter product line, has now been equipped with an EtherNet/IP communication protocol. This allows it to be easily integrated into Industrial Ethernet networks and just as easily configured in the process control system (PCS).
All production processes require continuous monitoring and control by a process control system. “Industry 4.0,” i.e., the networking of sensors and controllers, is of central importance in the process industry and in automation engineering.
Particularly in the case of high-throughput processes and critical parameters for plant safety and quality, relevant measured values must be determined in real time and transmitted to the control system, allowing the controller to react quickly if required.
The Stratos Multi E471 EtherNet/IP with multiparameter functionality can be flexibly deployed worldwide in combination with process control systems from any relevant supplier, such as Honeywell or Rockwell/Allen Bradley. It can transmit measured values, e.g., pH, oxygen concentration, or conductivity, as well as calibration values with zero point, slope, and diagnostic data directly to the process control system. The diagnostic data includes Sensoface, wear, remaining lifetime, operating time, calibration timer, SIP and CIP counters. Both standard diagnostic data as specified by the ODVA® (Open DeviceNet Vendor Association) and the extended diagnostic data from the sensor and transmitter (NAMUR NE 107) are transmitted to the PCS.
CIP/SIP and autoclaving counter, sensor diagram, and remaining sensor service life can be used by process management for predictive maintenance with optimized intervals.
With seamless real-time transmission of device and sensor data to the process control system, the Stratos Multi E471 is a considerable asset to plant optimization and efficiency.
